While I love lipsticks, I hate that they aren't always the most moisturizing. So, I could use chapstick, then lipstick, then repeat in a few hours, and turn my chapstick the same shade as my lipstick. But, 9 times out of 10, I use tinted lip balms instead. And, as for basic drugstore chapstick brands... they don't work!!! There's no reason that I should have to re-apply chapstick a million times a day and buy a new one every week. It's almost like they do it on purpose. Please share this, if you feel my pain.
Burt's Bees is one of my favorite brands for lip moisturizers and their tinted lip balms come in so many shades. I usually stick to Papaya or any shade in the scarlett family, in case you were wondering. Although, I'm really feeling rose lately. To the left, to the left, you'll see two tinted lip balm among the few, which are in the "Rose" red family. I've been using Burt's Bees Rose tinted lip balm on a daily because it's red enough to stand out, but not too red for an everyday look.
Beekman 1802 lip balm sticks are really moisturizing and stay on for hours on end, like through sips of coffee and duck face selfies. And the packaging is so pretty. The Honey + Orange Blossom lip balm is one of my favorites, especially since I love anything citrus-y. Hence, why I love the Citrus Orange Bitch Stix lip balm. And the proceeds from Bitch Stix help a survivor of domestic abuse. I'm all for cosmetic shopping, especially when it helps a charitable cause.
And when I'm feeling basic, I go for the Pure Goat Milk lip balm. I know it doesn't sound very appealing, but it has a nice, light fragrance and still gets the job done.
I picked up these magic sticks at Kiehl's, one of my top picks for cosmetic shopping. Unfortunately, these lip treatment duos were only around for Valentine's Day, but they are still sold separately. I 100% recommend these babies, my only negative review is on the price. $20 is a little much for a lip balm, but it is super moisturizing and also comes in Untinted, as seen on the left. So, you could even use it as a basic lip moisturizer without any color. The Simply Rose (on the right) is a nice darker shade of pink, but definitely not a red. Another favorite shade of mine (not featured in post) is the Touch of Berry. Find your favorite shade and send me a cute kissy-face selfie, to be featured #ontheblog.
P.S.- These made super cute Galentine gifts.
