It's a Date!
As a blogger trying to maintain a website and steadily post content for readers, also managing several social media accounts, I need calendars to keep all of my content organized. Not to mention, I'd like to keep up with my own personal social media accounts. There's three different types of content that I need to organize and schedule-- blog content, social media posts, and email marketing.
Although I organize these into three different types of calendars, it's all in one place. I use an editorial calendar to plan out any trends and hashtag holidays to keep in mind, while I'm creating content and writing blog posts. My social calendar is used in the same way as my editorial content, but this focuses on posting on my social media accounts. And then, I decide when to share a blog post on my social media accounts, depending on the timing. For example, I may share a blog post about blogging tips on a Tuesday, in accordance to #TuesdayTips. I use a content calendar (aka Coschedule) to coordinate social media posts, blog content, and email marketing content.
Coschedule is a handy marketing tool that I use to post on my personal social media and my blog's social accounts. It's a digital scheduler that can automatically post your content for you, so you don't have to everyday. Instead, you can focus on the important aspects of your business, whatever that may be. Writing my content is enough work for me, so it's super helpful to be able to have my blog content scheduled to be shared on my social media accounts for me. This also allows me more time to create quality content.
The picture above shows a Coschedule calendar view of marketing campaigns that are separated into three categories: a blog post, social media posts, or an email campaign. Because I use SquareSpace and not WordPress, I don't use the blog post scheduling feature.
Depending on the day, whether it's just one day out of the week or a "hashtag holiday," I create a campaign linked to my blog content or picture attached to be shared. For example, if it's #NaturePhotographyDay, I upload the picture that I want to share on several social media accounts. I also like to post different copy with my social media content, depending on the social media accounts being posted on.
Another super helpful feature... Coschedule can analyze social media data analytics and schedule your posts to go live on different social media platforms at just the right time, so that it will gain the most visibility and follower engagement. You can also track the results all in one place instead of finding data analytics on each social media account website, which are sometimes difficult to understand.
One little thing you should know, before using my Coscheduler referral link... I get a discount off my annual subscription fee for sharing my referral link on my blog and everytime someone uses the link, I receive an additional 10% off. Just trying to be totally transparent about the referral links that you see throughout my blog.
There's one task to cross off your daily to do list!
