Michael Todd's Sonic Refresher

At-Home Microdermabrasion System

Michael Todd Beauty introduces the first ever Sonic Refresher — a sonic microdermabrasion system that can be used on wet or dry skin, with the help of patented MicroMist technology.

And the best part about this beauty tool is that you can do it yourself, right in the comfort of your own bathroom. You can get, what I call Michael Todd’s 4 R’s of skincare treatment: Remove, Reset, Refine and Rehydrate. This an easy and totally painless procedure that you can now do at home. It’s a gentle, yet effective way, to get clearer, brighter skin without spending the big bucks at the spa. One microdermabrasian treatment at an NYC medispa can cost up to $250. And from my experience, I’ve paid $175 per session. This beauty tool is an investment of $100 and you can use it time and time again. It’s totally worth it!

I got my Sonic Refresher in Pink, but the beauty tool also comes in Black Metallic and White Marble. It’s very chic and slim, so it’s a great hand held beauty tool. It’s actually surprising how powerful the suction is because the tool feels to light-weight. One of my skincare philosophies is that you need a good peel or microdermabrasian to sort of “reset” every now and then, in order to maintain clean, healthy skin. I just used my Sonic Refresher last week and my skin is still glowing today. Plus, my pores are looking very fine. When I say fine, I mean small, which means extra dirt and oil is not getting clogged in there. Check out the beauty tool demos below, as well as my before and after pictures.

The Michael Todd Beauty Sonic Refresher is a wet/dry sonic microdermabrasion and pore extraction system that works with three different speed settings and MicroMist technology. The diamond tip for microdermabrasion and micronized misting combine to rehydrate your skin, after exfoliating to remove dead skin cells, leaving your face with a radiant glow.

The coarse treatment head (larger head labeled “C”) helps remove the dead skin that’s leaving your complexion dull, while creating the appearance of smoother-looking skin. Then, you should swap the heads and use the small treatment head (smaller head labeled “S”) to reset. And next, you’ll switch over to the fine treatment head (medium head labeled “F”) for refining. This head is used at the end of your microdermabrasion to polish and smooth out the skin. Wrap up your treatment by rehydrating your skin with the micronized mister. The end result is brighter, more radiant youthful-looking skin.

In addition to these three treatment heads, there is also a pore extraction tip

And although this is not in the instructions, my last step is moisturizing. After cleansing or exfoliating your face, your skin needs a little extra hydration, so grab your favorite face cream and pat it on. If you need a little extra moisture, then use a serum in addition to your face cream. Keep in mind that the serum is supposed to go one before your moisturizer.

Here’s what is included in the Michael Todd Beauty Sonic Refresher Kit:

  • Sonic Refresher (the main tool in this beauty kit)

  • 3 interchangeable treatment heads - Coarse, Fine, Small

  • 30 disposable filters

  • USB charging cable, Wireless charger, & Storage cradle

  • Built-in rechargeable NiMH battery

  • The Manual

Michael Todd stands by their products, by offering a two-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. I recommend calling up their warranty hotline and registering you’re product, as soon as it arrives at your front door. As for the handy dandy manual booklet that comes in the box, please, please, please keep it. I know a lot of people think manuals are unnecessary and just throw them in the garbage, but they really are helpful and it’s important to know your beauty tools inside and out. There are so many little things that are important to know for maintenance and troubleshooting, like changing the filter after each use and how to properly store your beauty tools.

While Michael Todd Beauty says this tool is suitable for all skin types, I always recommend chatting with your dermatologist and making sure that this beauty tool is a good fit for you.
