25 Simple Ways to Take a Mental Health Break

Here are some simple ways to take a mental health break, even if you “never have time” because you’re a f*cking boss. Try one activity every day!

  1. Go for a walk in nature.

  2. Take a social media cleanse for a day.

  3. Try a new recipe… or a new restaurant.

  4. Call a loved one.

  5. Spend Sunday morning at a local farmers market or event.

  6. Eat ice cream.

  7. Enjoy a latte.

  8. Spend an extra 15 minutes in the shower.

  9. Just dance!

  10. Take an art class.

  11. Write down affirmations and leave them on your desk to read again and again.

  12. Take a bubble bath.

  13. Deep breaths.

  14. Mask & Read… Put on a sheet mask and read a book.

  15. Binge a new Netflix series (or Hulu)!

  16. Take a yoga class.

  17. Treat yourself to that sweater you’ve been eyeing.

  18. Pour yourself a glass of wine or two.

  19. Sleep in or stay in bed for that extra hour on a Saturday morning.

  20. Take yourself out to dinner and a movie.

  21. Enjoy a cup of coffee in silence.

  22. Take a nap.

  23. Masturbate.

  24. Eat a bar of dark chocolate.

  25. You can always simply do nothing for as long as you can stand the stillness and silence… Otherwise known as meditating.

Quick note on #10… I would love to take a pottery class, but I can understand why the idea of signing up for a 6 week series of pottery classes might seem like more work than a relaxing DIY project, so you do you.
