Hair Teasing & Texturizing Sprays

Don't tease me! Tease my hair instead... And spritz some texturizing spray in too, while you’re at it.

Spornette Little Wonder Teasing Brush and Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray

You might recall from a previous post that I get a relaxer to keep my hair manageable. Well sometimes, the first week after having it done, the relaxer does what it’s supposed to do, but it leaves my hair a little too flat (even with the touch of a curling iron). Depending on my desired do, I whip out my Spornette Little Wonder Teasing Brush and kick up the volume a notch, by teasing my hair by the roots. You can probably find this teaser brush at Sally's Beauty Supply or even Ulta Beauty. My little teaser came to me in a monthly Birchbox that I used to subscribe to, but it’s also sold separately.

Both of these products are great for creating sort of a casual hair style, like a messy bun or an unpolished swept back ponytail. And while I love the volume the teasing brush gives my hair, sometimes I still want a polished look that isn't so messy. So, I spray some Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray into my hair, instead of teasing. Then, I use the brush to lightly brush back any fly-aways, for a more pulled back look.

I tend to wear my hair down a lot and just want to fuller look, but not necessarily volume. I also use this texturizing spray for tousling my hair to give my blow out a beach wave finish with some volume and/or body. Essentially, a texture spray creates separation between the strands of hair, creating a fuller look. I love to keep the mini dry texture spray handy, so I leave it in my desk at work for when I need a slight pick me up before I head out for dinner with the bae or drinks with the girls.

Not sold on it yet? That's OK. Try out a travel size bottle from the product gallery below.
