Philip Kingsley is a hair care company whose namesake founder has been described as a “true visionary in the world of hair care.” PK hair care specializes in trichology, which is the science of the hair and scalp. I love it! It sounds so pharmaceutical. This vegan hair care company is based in, with clinics both in London and New York.

My Type

I'm no expert, but I believe I have medium-textured hair. So my products of choice help to re-balance medium hair, and longer processed hair," which many of you know my hair is processed AF. My hair is both chemically and color-treated. When I say chemically treated, I’m referring to the relaxer treatment I do on my hair every eight to ten weeks (really more like 12 weeks). I can't skip more than two weeks of a deep conditioning treatment, or else my hair can get all dry and crunchy. And it would take forever to get back on track.

The Moisture Balancing Combination Shampoo uses an ingredient called guar to help with smoothness and static-control. Not surprisingly, the wheat protein helps to strengthen your mane. The shampoo also uses anti-oxidants to protect your hair from environmental damage. The Moisture Balancing Combination Conditioner is more of a deep conditioning treatment, in regards to the texture of the product, in my opinion. So I left the conditioner on like a hair mask for a few hours while I worked on a few blog posts. When it comes to conditioning products, don't forget to work it from root to tip throughout the entire head, using the product generously. This conditioner has most of the same ingredients as its pairing shampoo, as well as silicone for adding shine without the weight. And the hydrolyzed elastin improves (You guessed it!) your hair's elasticity and moisture retention, which helps reduce breakage. And because I always recommend using an additional product for moisture on top of your usual wash and conditioning routine, I recommend using a leave-in conditioner or deep conditioning hair mask. The Daily Damage Defence Leave-In Conditioner is ideal for any hair type because it’s just a lightweight detangler. This product is meant to improve the elasticity in your hair by hydrating it.
