A Visit to Broadstone Bar & Kitchen After Masking Guidelines Were Lifted

I stopped by Broadstone Bar & Kitchen for dinner after work, just a few days after masking requirements were lifted, and honestly not much has changed. The service was still pretty slow, but the food was as good as I remembered from pre-pandemic times.

The outdoor dining area at Broadstone is pretty well set up on the Stone Street side, which is quieter than Broad Street. Yes, that’s why the restaurant is called Broadstone lol. It looks nice during the day when you can see all the faux greenery and florals draped everywhere. My only complaint would be that their heaters don’t work well, so keep that in mind if you don’t like the idea of eating with your coat or jacket on.

I started off with the Watermelon Love, which is a vodka-based cocktail with watermelon flavor and a hint of grapefruit. Keep the timing of this blog post in mind when you visit because they may not have the same seasonal cocktails by then.

To share, I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls with housemate blue cheese dip and medium buffalo sauce. They’re nothing special, but it’s just good bar food to snack on if you’re starving and can’t wait for your main.

For my main, I ordered the Quinoa BBQ Short Rib Bowl, which was basically a warm salad bowl made up of slow-cooked short ribs, kale, sweet potato chips, corn, and cranberries served with their house dressing. I did pass on the toasted almonds because of my new nut allergy, but we had a little miscommunication with our server. And I’m not sure what happened to the corn or dressing, but the BBQ sauce on the short ribs was tangy enough, so whatever. So I had to wait another 20 minutes or so for a new dish. Just a quick note… I feel that the picture of this dish shown above makes the portion look small than it actually was.
